Rosanne Di Stefano is an astrophysicist at the Center for Astrophysics, Harvard & Smithsonian. Her work has encompassed a broad range of astronomical systems: stars interacting within dense stellar environments, the binary evolution of possible progenitors of Type Ia supernovae, X-ray astronomy, and gravitational microlensing.

In addition to continuing work in these areas, she is striking out in new directions, including predictions of pre-merger signatures from compact-object gravitational-wave mergers, mass transfer within triples, and the application of machine learning to the search for subtle but scientifically important X-ray signals and for optical signatures produced by planets and microlensing events to help prepare for the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope, LSST.

Di Stefano has also published on the history of science and on science education.
